Can
we bring the WHOLE family?
Yes, here at The Colonial Inn children of all ages are welcome. You can
even bring your dog to one of our ‘pet friendly’ suites. Contact reservations for more info on our pet policy.
Can we bring cars to the Island?
Yes, but reservations are mandatory so call The Steamship Authority on
508-477-8600 or log on to www.steamshipauthority.com. More information
on getting here can be found on our Transportation page.
Do you have parking?
No – but there is free parking at the edge of town which is serviced
by a free shuttle which will bring you in to town and drop you off 1
block from us. Due to the expense involved, and our convenient location,
many visitors, especially those on shorter trips, prefer to leave their
car behind and use public transportation and bicycles to get around.
If we don’t bring a car, how will we
get around?
There are lots of other options and all without the traffic headaches
and ferry reservations. See our Transportation page for more info.
What time are check-in and checkout?
Check-in is after 3pm and checkout is prior to 11am; but don’t
let your Island adventure be limited by these times! If you arrive early,
stop by and leave your bags with us and we will help you get acclimated
to the island and find ways to enjoy your day. And when it’s time
to leave, you can do the same. We remain your hosts until you leave the
Island! Where should we eat?
Chescas – the popular restaurant right on our front porch is open
for dinner in season. You can enjoy a continental breakfast in our atrium
and garden courtyard and afternoon tea in our lobby daily. There are
many other dining options both near and far. Be sure to look at our menu
book and ask our staff for suggestions once you arrive.
How close are you to town?
We’re right in the heart of things in Edgartown! Less than a 2
minute walk to Main Street or the Edgartown Harbor (and the closest ferry).
We’re ideally located to enjoy all Edgartown and Martha’s
Vineyard has to offer. Is there enough to keep the family busy for a whole week?
Yes, and far beyond that! No matter what time of year it is, activities

page. Do you have an elevator and wheelchair accessibility?
The Inn does not have an elevator, but offers luggage assistance. We
have wheelchair accessible rooms on our 2nd floor via a wheelchair
lift. If you or anyone in your party has difficulty with stairs, please
mention this at time of reservation so that a room on the 2nd floor
can be set aside for you |
